1. Information processed on your device

Documents and files

Automatic discovery and management of supported PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents across shared device storage is a core App function. When you grant All files access, the App automatically scans accessible shared storage to build and refresh an on-device document library covering supported files across available folders. The App can then display, open, read, edit, convert, merge, split, lock, unlock, rename, share, delete, and otherwise manage supported files. File names, file paths, document metadata, document contents, images used for PDF creation, scanned images, document passwords, and raw file-search terms are processed locally for the feature you request.

Document contents, file names, file paths, document passwords, and raw file-search terms remain on your device during core document operations. We do not provide this document data to analytics or advertising services. Analytics and advertising services receive the device, usage, diagnostic, attribution, and advertising data described in this Policy. When you choose Android's system Share function or open a file with another app, the receiving service or app handles the transferred file under its own terms and privacy policy.

Scanned documents and images

If you use Scan PDF, the App launches Google Play services' ML Kit Document Scanner. Google Play services provides the scanner interface for capturing pages and importing images you select. After you confirm the pages inside the scanner, the App receives the resulting images or PDF and processes them on your device for the document feature you requested.

If you use Image to PDF, the App opens Android's system content picker using Intent.ACTION_GET_CONTENT. Android or the selected document provider displays available images, and the App receives the images you choose for PDF creation. If you import an existing image inside Document Scanner, Google Play services handles that selection within the scanner and the App receives the result you confirm. Selected images are processed on your device for PDF creation.

Installed apps and launcher data

To provide the optional Home screen and app drawer, the App reads installed-app information solely to match each installed app with its correct name and icon, display those icons in the app drawer, make apps searchable, open an app you select, and create shortcuts. Installed-app information, including the app list, names, package names, labels, and icons, is processed exclusively on your device for these launcher functions. We do not provide this installed-app information to third parties. Analytics and advertising services receive launcher action categories and aggregate technical events described in this Policy.

Local preferences

The App stores preferences such as language, bookmarks, recent items, widget style, permission state, feature prompts, and whether you selected the App as your default Home app. These settings stay on your device. Android backup behavior or a transfer feature you explicitly use may transfer them.

Search terms

File search terms and app-drawer search terms remain on your device and are used to filter files or installed apps. We do not provide these local search terms to third parties.

The Home screen also includes an optional web-search feature. When you actively submit a web search, the App passes your query to Google Search through your system or default browser. Google and the browser you use then process the query under their own terms and privacy policies. Analytics events for this action are limited to query length, entry point, and action type.

2. Information collected automatically off the device

Depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and the services enabled for your installed App version, the App and its service providers may automatically collect:

• App activity and coarse feature events, such as app launches, screen or tool category, whether a requested operation succeeded, permission results, ad requests, ad impressions, ad clicks, and ad revenue events.
• Installation and attribution information, such as install and App launch timing, App version, installation referrer information, and device or installation identifiers used to determine whether an install is organic or attributable to a source.
• App and device information, such as App version, Android version, device model or brand, language, time zone, network type, and general technical configuration.
• Diagnostics and performance information, such as crash stack traces, application state at the time of a crash, error categories, SDK errors, and device metadata used to diagnose stability issues.
• Advertising information, such as IP address, which may be used to estimate general location; advertising ID or app set ID where available; ad interactions; diagnostic information; consent signals; and information used for ad delivery, measurement, frequency control, and fraud prevention.

Our analytics events record feature categories, operation results, counts, entry points, and technical status. Document data, raw search terms, installed-app names, and installed-app package names remain in the on-device processing described above.

3. Information you provide to us

If you email support, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, attachments, and troubleshooting details. Please send only the information needed for your support request. We use support correspondence to respond, investigate issues, protect the service, and maintain necessary records.

The Website provides product information, legal pages, and an email contact channel. Your browser and hosting provider process standard request data, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and security logs, to deliver and protect the Website.

4. Why we process information

We process information to:

• Automatically discover and organize supported PDF and Office documents in accessible shared storage, and provide the document management, reader, conversion, scan, edit, security, sharing, widget, and optional launcher features you request.
• Save your local settings and keep the App working as expected.
• Measure whether core flows work and understand feature usage in aggregate.
• Measure App installations and determine installation attribution.
• Detect crashes, diagnose errors, improve performance, and prevent abuse or fraud.
• Request, deliver, measure, and control advertising that supports the App.
• Respond to support and privacy requests.
• Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect users, the App, and our rights.

5. Advertising and privacy choices

The App is supported by advertising and may display app-open, interstitial, and native ads. Advertising providers may use the data described above to deliver, limit, measure, personalize, or prevent fraud in advertising, depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and provider configuration.

Where required, the App will request an applicable privacy or advertising choice before requesting personalized advertising. You may still receive non-personalized or limited ads after declining personalized advertising where supported. You can also reset or delete the Android advertising ID, manage privacy choices made available in the App, change Android permission settings, or contact us for help. Availability of each control depends on your device, region, App version, and the advertising providers in use.

6. Service providers and data sharing

We use service providers to operate, measure, protect, and monetize the App. The specific services enabled may vary by App version and region.

In the current release, AppsFlyer receives installation attribution, session measurement, and a dedicated advertising-revenue event containing the revenue amount and currency. Custom PDF, launcher, and permission events are processed through the analytics services described for those purposes. Advertising-partner postbacks, including session postbacks, are enabled for the applicable configured campaign and partner.

When you submit a Google web search or follow another web shortcut, the query or destination is transferred at your request to Google, your browser, or the relevant website. This user-initiated transfer is governed by the receiving service's terms and privacy policy.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce agreements, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or security issues, or complete a corporate transaction with appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

The released App package may contain adapters for all advertising providers listed above. Actual initialization and ad requests are determined by the App version, region, consent state, remote configuration, and mediation-console configuration.

Document contents remain subject to the on-device processing and user-initiated transfer rules described above. Advertising providers process the advertising data described in this Policy. We will update this Policy when the released package, enabled providers, or data practices change.

7. Permissions and system capabilities

The App version covered by this Policy uses the following Android permissions and system capabilities:

You can revoke permissions or change default-app choices in Android Settings. Android applies the default Home app and default file handler after you confirm the selection in system settings.

8. Data retention and deletion

• Local files and settings remain on your device until you delete them, clear App storage, or uninstall the App, subject to Android backup or storage behavior.
• Core document contents remain on your device and follow the local deletion behavior described above.
• Support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain business and security records, and meet legal obligations.
• Analytics, attribution, crash, advertising, hosting, and security data are retained according to our configured settings, the provider's retention rules, and the time reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy.

To request access to or deletion of information controlled by us, email nrtctz@gmail.com. Because most off-device data is associated with device or installation identifiers rather than an account, we may ask for limited device or request details needed to locate the data. We may need to direct or forward requests to a service provider when that provider controls the relevant data.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including limiting our analytics schema, restricting access to service dashboards, and using encrypted network connections such as HTTPS or TLS where supported. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting local files, document passwords, device access, and any copies you share with other apps or services.

10. International data transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we and our providers rely on legally recognized safeguards for cross-border transfers. See the provider policies linked above for more information about their locations and transfer mechanisms.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent, and to appeal or complain to a data protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal limits and may not apply to information that cannot reasonably be linked to you.

You can also:

• Revoke App permissions in Android Settings.
• Change the default Home app or default file handler in Android Settings.
• Reset or delete the Android advertising ID and adjust device advertising controls.
• Use privacy choices presented by the App where available.
• Delete local files, clear App storage, or uninstall the App.

12. Children's privacy

PDF Smart Home is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request a child's name, contact details, or document contents. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact nrtctz@gmail.com so we can review and take appropriate action.

Parents and guardians should supervise minors' use of device files, sharing functions, the optional launcher, and third-party advertising. We configure the App's target-audience settings and enabled advertising services consistently with this section.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when the App, SDKs, providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. We will post the updated version at https://pdfsmarthome.com/privacy/ and change the "Last updated" date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
